Day 18-20: Utah and Grand Canyon

Day 18: Madison, Utah

We went white water rafting in Utah, but it really wasn't all that difficult. Basically we sat in the raft and did almost nothing the entire time except a few times when the guide needed us to row. Sorry no photos because i was afraid my camera would get water damage.

Day 19: Grand Canyon, Arizona

This is the North Rim of the Grand Canyon. Sadly we did not get a chance to hike down into the Canyon, but we did get to see the Colorado River and the highest point of the Grand Canyon. Enjoy the photos.

Day 20: Zion National Park, Utah

This park has lots of awesome rock formations and rivers. I loved the place and if you're in Utah I say you pay this place a visit.

Day 11-17: South Dakota, Wyoming, Utah

Day 11: Badlands, South Dakota

This is the Badlands. The rock formations were made when Pangea came apart and an ocean filled this area in South Dakota. Now that the ocean is gone, we have these rocks and some fossils of sea creatures.

Day 12: Mount Rushmore, SD

here we are at mt. rushmore, and wow those heads are huge and very very detailed. the pictures may not give them justice.

Day 13: Driving to Yellowstone

here are some photos of us driving into Yellowstone National Park.

Day 14: Yellowstone National Park (Grand Canyon of Yellowstone, Upper and Lower Falls)

i have no idea why this is underlined... i can't get rid of it. Brian's computer is retarded. anyways here we are at the Grand Canyon of Yellowstone. Fun fact: Lower Falls is twice as large as Niagra Falls. check out the pix.

Day 15: Yellowstone National Park (Avalanche Peak)

We were not prepared for this, but we did it anyways. Avalanche Peak involved a 1400 ft climb. I forget the total elevation, but make no mistake it was pretty darn high. 3 hr climb to the top in the snow and a 1.5 hr descent (we slid down!)

Day 16: Yellowstone National Park (Old Faithful, West Thumb Geyser Basin)

Took an easier day today and did some touristy things. We saw some of the more popular things to look at like Old Faithful, West Thumb, and Morning Glory Pool (which kind of sucked).

Day 17: Salt Lake City, Utah

This is a very nice looking town. Most of the downtown is clean and looks new (possibly because they just hosted the winter Olympics). I had a beer in the Mormon capital, but here is a fun fact: all of the alcohol content is lower in Salt Lake City than in other parts of the United States.

Guess what? People in Milwaukee... drink a LOT of booze!! We attended the Miller Beer Factory in Milwaukee and learned that 40% of the beer that is shipped out from there is consumed by Chicago.

The Gateway Arch.

This is suppost to symbolize the gateway to the west. it is basically in the middle of the united states and we rode to the top. check out the pictures below...

I am waiting for the pictures to upload and only have about 5 minutes to get ready to leave. blah!!! we're gonna go to the College Football Hall of Fame in about 15 minutes and then visit Notre Dame. pictures take a long time to load. as i sit unpatiently in this lobby im am growing increasingly annoyed to the LOUD beeping of a transportation machine behind me. I want to break it in half. Its made of steel but i asldfj yeah pictures are done~!

Some pictures from our time in Busch Stadium, home of the St. Louis Cardinals. This looks like a big baseball town, they love to wear red, love Mark McGwuire (spelling?). Plus the girls we saw at the baseball game were pretty darn cute.

Here's a picture of FedExForum in Memphis. This is where the Memphis Grizzilies play basketball. Too bad they have one of the suckiest Fan attendance and team in the NBA. Memphis was great though... best ribs dinner.

I am running out of internet time, so i must blog faster!!! So here we go quick and easy. It was our first day on the road. Went from New Orleans to Memphis then to St. Louis.

We went to Graceland (for those who dont know, its Elvis' home in Memphis, TN). Even by today's standards his house is flat out amazing...

Day 2: New Orleans

Day 2:

Can anybody spell "Swamp Tour"!? Cuz i barely can. That's what we did in our second day in New Orleans. Check out this boat below!!!

Those things were awesome! If you think we road one, you're absolutley wrong. It costs $66 bucks for that. We took a smaller, slower, uglier tour boat that costs a very thrifty $20. Hey check out Beaver Boy Long's new hat!

He swears it increases his coolness level by 4 points, however i corrected him saying it only increases sexiness level by 3.

Alligator eating chicken. Apparently the alligators here speak French and like marshmellows.

We didnt see Swamp Thing, but i guess gators will work.

Roadtrip: Day 1

Sorry for the delay, but I just havent had internet the last few days.

Day 1:

My flight to New Orleans has a layover in Vegas for 30mins, so I decide to gamble for 3 minutes. I win $320 on the slots, lol. We finally land in New Orleans and meet the car that will be lugging us around for the next 3 weeks. A Saturn Aura. I had never even heard of this car! I still think we're the only ones in the world driving one.

Hollywood, Helicopters, and Cops

This is our last peaceful moment of the evening.

A couple weeks ago I went to the Hollywood sign at midnight

and am just now posting this picture. Yes, I know it is a little

late, but whatever. We brought beer in a cooler (actually it

was a Physical Therapy ice bag that belonged to my friend

James and he couldn't have known that he would lose it b/c

he would run from cops later that night--- sorry for your

loss James). After the 45 minute hike to the top we climb the

fence and loiter on the "H" of the Hollywood sign. For those

of you who don't know... this is forbidden. As you can see

from the photo above I am wearing shorts and flat slip-on

shoes, none of my friends took the time to tell me the plan for

the night (thanks guys, now I'm glad James lost his ice bag),

so I was completely unprepared.

Anyways long story short... we trip a sensor, helicopter is

patroling area, spot light looks for us, we run, Cop in jeep

comes, we hide, a friend (Chris) unintentially becomes a

diversion, coast is clear we run down hill, we look for Chris

but he is already down the hill (he fell down the Hollywood

Hill, that was the diversion), we luckily escape the police

and eat wet burritos in rejoice!

Starting Monday, June 16th I will embark upon the longest

and greatest adventure on North America in my short life.

Long, Welton, Brian, and I will be stuck in a Chevy Impala

(yes, I know... total chick magnet) exploring the United

States and possibly beyond. I think one of us is going to bring

a laptop so we can keep posting dumb stuff like how Brian

was the first to pee in the gas tank to increase our fuel efficiency.

This is my roomate Kabir Bhaghat. Yes, he's a Laker fan. Yes, his favorite player is Kobe Bryant. Yes, he has the same initials as him (KB). No, he doesn't like KB toystores. Yes, his favorite number is 24.

Anyways, many of us find Kabir to be a little too obnoxious when he watches Laker games. We also find him to be a little too obnoxious when he gets drunk. So I decided to get him so drunk that he would fall asleep and couldn't watch the 2nd half of Game 2 of NBA Finals. Not only that, but we wanted to tag all over him when he would finally passout. Somebody suggested we cut his fingers off; I think I also heard somebody say we should just shoot him. Yeah, I keep violent company.

Why? because my girlfriend says i'm a big boy now. We'll that plus i graduated from CSULB (B.S. Biology - Physiology------ for anybody who's interested). Too bad I still have to go to Graduate School, but before that I will go on my X-country trip. Long, Welton, Brian, and I will think of a better name for it later. Until then it will just be known as the "LWB&T X-Country trip"... and yes that stands for "Lesbians With Bisexuals And Trannys" not "Long,Brian,Welton, and Tommy". I am also thinking "Country" doesn't need the word "o", I'm not entirely sure so I'm gonna check it out at Dictionary.com. Until then here are some graduation photos for you to stare at.
